Field Trip: Liberty Science Center

I went to the Liberty Science Center for a field trip in third or fourth grade and remember bits and pieces of it, and honestly, even some of the things I remembered being there are still there twenty something years later.

In case you are unfamiliar with what the LSC is, there are sections throughout the place and even some exhibits to explore.  It is a fun interactive learning center.  Kids can learn how things work and even try to figure it all out.  My sons really enjoy learning about molecules and machinery, so this was definitely exciting for them.

The boys went to LSC over the summer and enjoyed it, but there were still parts of it that they hadn’t seen and other things they wanted to enjoy again.  One of our homeschooling co-ops had talked about taking a field trip there, so I thought it would be great to do.

I think the communications area was one of the most enjoyable areas for the boys that day.  We have been learning about different forms of writings over the past year and they were able to try it out and even learn about radio frequencies and graffiti too.

At the very end of the day, the boys were incredibly tired and couldn’t wait to go home to relax.  I was so very pooped!  This is definitely a good place to take your children, if you have the opportunity to.
